My 6 year old son once asked me how to build a snowman. My answer was that he can't build a snowman in Egypt, specially not in the North Coast where everyone spends summer! He was so disappointed and he asked me about the weather, and how come there's no snow in Egypt, the thing that lead me to explain simple geography for about 15 minutes. Then, I suggested that we go to the beach and build ourselves a "Sandman" instead. He was so happy with the suggestion and we headed to the beach instantly. We built a "sandman" horizontally because the sand would'nt hold up in a vertical position :).
The moral of the story? Try not to take anything for granted, the snow you see every winter that piles up in your doorway is something neither I nor my son have seen before in real life. I always wondered how it would be like to touch snow, build a snowman, make snow angels, and throw snowballs at my friends. So, if you can find it in you, next time you're out in the winter, think of my son, and build him a snowman! :)
